Offering the opportunity to train as a teacher. We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to train as a teacher within our partnership of schools. Our School Direct pathways allow you to work alongside outstanding practitioners from a range of schools across the North East. We will train you to become a qualified teacher, specialising in the primary phase or in your chosen secondary school subject.
If you are interested in School Direct, recruitment begins in October 2022 for training placements starting in September 2023.

Three types of funding available for teacher training. You may be eligible to receive some or all of them, depending on your circumstances. These are:

Applicants may be eligible for a bursary if they have a 1st, 2:1 or 2:2 bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree or a doctorate.
Scholarships of £26,000 may also be available if you wish to train as a chemistry, computing, mathematics or physics teacher. These are usually available to applicants with a 1st or 2:1 bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree or doctorate in a relevant subject. In exceptional circumstances, they may be awarded to a graduate with a 2:2 and significant relevant experience.
