Introduction

Offering the opportunity to train as a teacher. We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity to train as a teacher within our partnership of schools. Our Postgraduate Initial Teacher Training pathways allow you to work alongside outstanding practitioners from a range of schools across the North East. We will train you to become a qualified teacher, specialising in the primary phase or in your chosen secondary school subject.

Finance and Bursaries

Visit the Get into Teaching site for full information on financial incentives for postgraduate non-salaried teacher training courses in 2023/24.

Three types of funding available for teacher training. You may be eligible to receive some or all of them, depending on your circumstances. These are:

  1. A tax-free bursary or scholarship,
  2. A tuition fee loan and maintenance loan
  3. Additional financial support if you’re a parent or have a disability
