Leading Professional Development Connecting with Education Research

Learning happens when people have to think hard.

Prof. Rob Coe

This two half-day programme is designed for CPD Leaders / Phase Leaders / Subject Leaders/ Secondary & Primary.

Face to face or via webinar

1 & 2
Models for designing and delivering effective professional development
The power of teacher subject knowledge – ‘Knowledge begets knowledge’ E D Hirsch
3 & 4
  • Developing and embedding whole-school retrieval practice
  • Getting pupils to think more deeply – questioning / checking and consolidating understanding

Evidence-based practice is not ‘cookbook’ teaching or policing, nor should it be about prescribing what goes on from a position of unchallenged authority. It is about integrating professional expertise with the best external evidence from research to improve the quality of practice.

Just to say what an amazing session that was. I got so much from it and you really fortified and affirmed my thinking with all matters linked to the curriculum. It’s sometimes really difficult trying to articulate the answers to some of those questions in the whirlwind that is school life but the way you’ve broken it down has been really illuminating. Just fab stuff!
